Last Day at Lake Glennada

Hello friends and family
Remember that old song, This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Well we are rejoicing over the wonderful time we've had in FLA this winter. We made new friends, that we hope to stay in contact with. Today we went with some of our neighbors to Avon Park's spring festival. Music, food, "stuff" food, fun and did I mention "food"?

Tomorrow we're on the road again. We'll stay Sunday night in North/west FLA at the Maintee Springs State Park. Then on to Georgia...trying out several new campgrounds before we end up and Keith, Jen's and Collin Bradley Fishburn's home next Friday and Saturday.

Next year, all things being equal, we've accepted a position as a work-camper at Woody's RV Park south of Sebring, FL (about 30 minutes from where we are this year). We should be able to stay in contact with these friends and make new ones. We'll be here from the first of November until early May in 2010. We will work 2 1/2 days a week in exchange for free camping for the winter months. We'll see how it works out :)

Please keep our precious kids and grandkids in your prayers, Nicole & Jeremy in mission work in Africa...pray for health and effective ministry...pray for Kya Jin Elias and her family, pray for Keith, Jen and Mr. Collin Bradley Fishburn and praise God for each of them.

I love to ready your responses, feel free to answer back

The picture of Daisy should have this caption...YIKES, mom, a winter coat in FLA? of course we couldn't resist it because it is a John Deere design. It doesn't appear that she is too happy about it ;)

Catching up on March 18

Hello dear friends and family...It's been a while, but you know how "busy" vacation can be. No, seriously, it's not that busy, but it's just tooooo much fun!

Our big adventure last week was visiting with Mike & Merle in Orlando and spending a day at Kennedy Space Center. First of all, M & M fell in love with Miss Daisy (alias "cute face")....I wasn't sure we would get her back. They are delightful hosts!

The trip to the space center was so interesting. It spiked a new interest in the entire program and it's history. We were there the Friday before the last shuttle went on Sunday. If you get a chance to visit there, I'd encourage it. The video, the actual space ships, and the history of the place is amazing.

Then, we watched the shuttle from our campground on Sunday night, (keep in mind that is about 90 miles away from Avon Park) We could see it in the sky and even see the after burner drop off and burn up. Amazing!

For all of you that know your "dad" "Grandpa" "friend", you won't be surprised that he is outside washing the RV today. We have been down here nearly 3 weeks without any rain, and the FLA sand has been flying. It finally rained a little last night and he couldn't wait any longer to polish this ole girl.

We are enjoying each other and the people here. Every afternoon in our "back-yard" a group of women and a group of men gather to share "gossip", things to do in the area, bargains to be found, etc. Dick calls the guys group "The Liar's Club". I don't know, but I hear a lot of laughing from them.

It is all good ...thank you for your prayers for health and safety as we get ready to head into Georgia the last weekend of the month. We're going to hang out at various campgrounds until we get to see Mr. Collin Bradley Fishburn the first weekend in April. Can't wait...then on to home to kiss and hug on our new granddaughter, Kya Jin Elias. What a wonderful year!

Love to all

Miss Daisy escape

Well, you should have seen the chase this morning (Friday). Daisy has been sitting in one of the lawn chairs outside with us. She is leashed to the chair in case another dog comes by and she decides to take off. Well, Dick started the the truck and she thought she was going along and jumped off the chair, knocked over the neighbors bucket of soapy water (he was washing his truck), got frightened and ran across the street, dragging the chair behind her. It was such a funny sight, but she wasn't too amused by that chair following her. Luckily when Dick yelled stop, she actual did...amazed us :).

We're having a great time, not very anxious to come back except to see new grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sure would like to sell the house...:)

Dick at the strawberry shortcakes

Well, one should proof before one sends unh? The blog earlier today I said "did" ate 2 strawberry shortcakes, it should have been Dick. Serves me right for telling on him ;)

Time is going toooo fast

Thursday afternoon...well, we are about "festiveled" out. Today we went to another one, called Pioneer days, last Tuesday was the Strawberry Festival, which did initiated with 2 count them 2 strawberry shortcakes. Then we invited friends over Tuesday night for more strawberry shortcakes. He is very full of fibre and vitamin "C". The strawberry festival is the most fun because of the great talent they have at various venues throughout the park.

Mike & Merle are meeting us for lunch Sunday at an old time hotel in downtown (I use the term "downtown" with a smile ) Avon Park then hanging out with us the rest of the day.

Miss Daisy is doing very well, whether she goes with us or stays behind, she doesn't
cause any trouble. In fact, we said she behaves a lot better in the back seat than the kids used to :)

It's getting warmer every day and we're loving it. Especially the constant sunshine! To get away from the "perma-cloud" of northern IN is a blessing.

Keep praying for the Elias' in China and Nicole & Jeremy, and Keith and Jen as they wait for Mr. Colllin to be born.

Love to you all
